Hey Mom.
Are you barely surviving between therapy appointments?

Weekly therapy appointments may not be enough if you're drowning in motherhood.

Have these thoughts ever crossed your mind...?

"Having my baby was a mistake..."

"I'm such a bad mom..."

"My baby deserves a better mom than me..."

"I don't think I can handle motherhood..."

If so, you're in the right place.

Intrusive thoughts are heavy. And it isn't easy to carry them on your own.

That's exactly why MotherMind exists.

Believe me, those exact thoughts you're having scared me, too.

Quite honestly, I created MotherMind because it's the service I wish I'd had access to.

How can I help you?

My name is Abby Heit, and I've walked through the trenches of early motherhood myself—as a mom of two who survived intensive parenting during COVID while living with my mother-in-law (who was in the early stages of dementia...) I understand exactly what you're facing.

My story includes...

  • 18 hours of labor (3 weeks before COVID)

  • Breastfeeding struggles

  • No sleep for days on end

  • Living in a completely shattered version of myself

Taking on new information felt impossible.

Learning how to wrap my son in a baby carrier…
Cleaning pump parts…
Calming my baby…
Engaging with the pediatrician… It was all too overwhelming.

I attended therapy during that time, too. But, I was led to believe I needed to just "push through" from appointment to appointment.

Without support in between.

I've also spent the last 12 years professionally supporting pregnant and postpartum moms in OBGYN clinics, pediatric settings, parent support groups, and now in private practice as a therapist.

I hold my PMH-C (Perinatal Mental Health Certification) from Postpartum Support International because I believe specialized training matters when it comes to the unique challenges of motherhood.

I understand both the clinical side of perinatal mental health AND the brutally ugly reality of what it feels like to question everything about yourself as a mother. That combination of lived experience and professional expertise is exactly what allows me to meet you where you are—not only as your therapist, but as someone who truly gets it.

So, are you realizing, like I did, that weekly therapy isn't quite enough?

How to tell if weekly therapy isn’t enough...

"I spiral over every little thing..."

"My emotions feel too scary to share with anyone else..."

"I'm living appointment to appointment."

"I feel alone and isolated during the week."

"When crisis moments hit, I'm drowning..."

What is MotherMind?

MotherMind is ongoing support for pregnant and postpartum DC and Virginia moms who are already in therapy.

It's a higher level of support designed specifically for moms in the early stages of motherhood.

Think: Support that wraps around you…

Holding you up in between therapy appointments, when weekly therapy isn’t enough.

So, instead of feeling like you're barely making it in between appointments…

You have a steady hand to guide you through the hardest moments.

You feel prepared to take on the day that used to feel like an anxiety-fueled, unstructured mess.

Instead, you face your days with clarity and practical tools.

You're not just surviving motherhood anymore — you're learning to navigate it with confidence, even when crisis moments hit.

 Imagine...

Instead of thinking...

"I'll never sleep again."

"I'll never feel like my old self again."

"My life is always going to be this hard with a child around."
Your thoughts are...

"I can handle the hard nights because I have tools that work."

"I'm becoming who I'm meant to be as a mother—and that's enough."

"When challenges come, I know exactly what to do and who to reach out to."

You're Not Alone

That’s 20% of moms.

But, here's where it gets even more real:

If you gathered five mothers in a room, at least one of them would be struggling with a perinatal mood or anxiety disorder.

If you already have a history of anxiety or depression, your risk increases to 30-50%.

And if you’ve experienced postpartum mood or anxiety disorders before? The likelihood of it happening again can be as high as 80%.

Within 48-72 hours of delivering your baby, your estrogen and progesterone levels plummet from the highest they’ll ever be to pre-pregnancy levels or lower.

This isn’t just a hormonal shift.

It's the largest hormonal change a woman experiences. More dramatic that puberty, menstruation, or menopause.

So, if your brain isn’t working the way it used to…

And everything feels harder…

Your body and mind are simply responding to a truly significant biological event.

And the problem?

Traditional once-a-week support often leaves moms struggling in between sessions…
Exactly when they need help the most.

That’s why MotherMind is here to provide this gap in support.
I’m so grateful for Abby and the support she’s given me through both becoming a mother and navigating grief. She creates such a safe, compassionate space where I’ve felt truly seen and heard. Her insight has helped me through some of the hardest and most meaningful moments of my life. I can’t recommend her enough
